About the Society

Since 1880 we have observed, recorded and supported the conservation of wildlife in Hull, the East Riding and beyond.

Our Programme page shows our field trips for the year with lists of what we have seen, including archives going back to 2009. We go out weekly on Tuesday evenings between May and August, monthly on day trips and have weekends away once a year. We hold evening meetings for talks and slide shows in the winter.

Our News page features contributions from our members. The Local Wildlife page records some of our projects in the area. The Publications page gives online access to our occasional publications and bulletins. The Links page indexes useful local and national websites.

We welcome new members of any level of expertise but children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. To find out more, please contact our Secretary, whose details are shown on the right.
