This plant has become very well established in mown grassland everywhere. This seems to contrast with the status of the taxon in Nottingham (Shepherd 1998) where it is described as "localised". Crackles (1990) reports the earliest Hull record as being in 1967. Increasing rapidly by vegetative means, it does not seem to set seed.
