Arctium lappa
Family : Asteraceae
Greater Burdock
1/119 : Native
The only records are from Paul Murby and John Dews. Clackles (1990) notes that the species is "apparently uncommon", this may be another case (c.f. Rumex sanguineus) of a plant being overlooked because local botanists do not expect to find it. The maps presented by Perring & Walters (1962) show that the taxon in Hull would be at the northern edge of its distribution.

J F Robinson 1902: Notes the presence of a taxon distinct from A. minus in the nearby Raywell Woods but questions whether it is indeed A. lappa.

Herbarium material: HLL : Hessle 1933 {A K Wilson}.
