A well distributed, fairly common plant of waste ground and gardens. The blue subspecies, A. arvensis foeminia, was found at the edge of a Council-maintained grass lawn on Parthian Road [TA 14 31]. Unfortunately it was treated with herbicide soon after discovery.
J F Robinson 1902: The blue subspecies is described as being "... very commonly amongst the dock aliens."
