Now only known from apple trees in the grounds of Hayworth Hall, where it has been known since at least 1976 (Crackles 1990). Until very recently it grew on an ancient Hawthorn in the same km square but on the opposite side of the river. Unfortunately this site has been destroyed.
J F Robinson 1902: "Occasional in gardens on apple trees. ...Hull Bank House; ... formerly on Hawthorn in Green Lane, Newland, Hull (now extinct, the tree having been cut down)."
